Keeping Children Safe in Cheshire East

About us

Cheshire East Safeguarding Children's Partnership has been established to oversee the Multi-Agency Safeguarding Children arrangements as required by the government guidance Working Together 2018. It is formed by the Cheshire East Council, Cheshire Police and NHS Eastern Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group and NHS South Cheshire Clinical Commissioning Group. All partners have equal and joint responsibility for local safeguarding arrangements and we are committed to the principles that support these arrangements.

In particular we're here to make sure that no child at risk ever falls through the 'cracks' and that any concern from any quarter is quickly shared and acted on.

This is all driven by our vision that it is the right of every child and young person in Cheshire East to enjoy a healthy and happy childhood, grow up feeling safe from abuse or neglect and thrive in an environment that enables them to fulfil their potential.

Our Priorities

CESCP has agreed shared priorities for our partnership which support these ambitions and we have adopted these as our initial plan for supporting the protection and wellbeing of children and young people in Cheshire East.

We will improve frontline multi-agency practice through working on:

•           Our approach to Contextual Safeguarding

•           Improving the quality and effectiveness of child in need planning for children

•           Emotional Health and Wellbeing of our vulnerable children

•           Embedding the New Arrangements (PDF,1.73MB) and the 7 Minute Guide (PDF,433KB)
