Cheshire East Safeguarding Children’s Partnership
Keeping Children Safe in Cheshire East
Cheshire East Local Safeguarding Children Board (LSCB) is a partnership of agencies set up to co-ordinate and ensure the effectiveness of services to safeguard and promote the welfare of children in the area of the authority. This includes arrangements across agencies for Child Protection systems.
The LSCB is a 'statutory body' which is required to exist by Section 14(1) of the Children Act 2004 and Local Safeguarding Children regulations 2006. All of its work is directed by the Government's publication 'Working Together to Safeguard Children: a guide to inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children (PDF, 1.1MB) (March 2013). Chapter 3 of Working Together sets out the role of LSCBs in detail.
