Multi-agency training
Cheshire East LSCB are committed to the provision of a quality, evidence based multi-agency safeguarding training programme. This will ensure that staff are competent and confident in carrying out their responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting children and young people's welfare.
The need for all professionals working with children and families to receive appropriate child protection and safeguarding training has been a key recommendation in many enquiries, since the introduction of formal child protection procedures in the 1950's.
The significance of Multi-Agency training has been specifically documented in Lord Lamings review into the death of Victoria Climbie, and Professor Eileen Munro's recent review into child protection. 'Working Together to Safeguard Children' (2010) underlies the role interagency training has in communicating National and Local policy and procedures.
Cheshire East LSCB provides a programme of high quality courses, facilitating an excellent opportunity to learn together. The overall aim being that effective interagency training leads to enhanced partnership working which improves outcomes for children and young people.
The Multi-Agency training offered in Cheshire East is deisgned to meet the needs of a diverse range of practioners. All training and development supported by Cheshire East LSCB is underpinned by current national and local research, policy and guidance into safeguarding and also adult learning theories.
